JEL completed an existing system analysis report of the wastewater and sewage treatment facility for the Alamo Chapter of the Navajo Nation. The report identified various deficiencies and environmental violations that initiated the design of a replacement sewage treatment facility at Alamo, NM. JEL’s design entailed a new wastewater/sewage lagoon system that included sludge removal lagoons, extended treatment lagoons, and infiltration lagoons with a lift station and force main as part of the facility to accommodate a 20 year build out. Aspects of the project included the coordination and management of a Photogrammetric Aerial survey of the area to be used. JEL also coordinated the necessary Cultural, Archeological, and Environmental clearances required by BIA and the Navajo Nation for the new lagoon site. Upon approval of the report JEL was contracted to prepare the Construction Documents and provide daily on-site inspection of the project during construction. JEL assisted in the Bid and Award of the contract as well as documentation relative to the Grantors requirements for the project. Funding for the project was provided by the New Mexico State Tribal Infrastructure Funds program as well as the Navajo Nation and US Department of Agriculture Rural Development. $4.2 million
